Top 3 Vail Penthouses

Sebastian Vail PenthouseWhat Exactly Is A Penthouse?

Look up. WAAAAY up. Yeah, you got the sun and the moon and the glorious Rocky Mountains, and just below it, above all the rest of the floors of the hotel, you’ll see the penthouse. That’s where we all want to be. The best seat in the house. Typically differentiated from other rooms by its luxury features, the penthouse originally referred to (and sometimes still does refer to) a separate smaller “house” constructed on the roof of an apartment building or hotel.

The concept of the Penthouse was born in the Roaring Twenties of New York, when booming economic growth brought high demand for luxury living in urban areas. One of the earliest penthouse apartments was actually built for Condé Nast (who you may know as the world’s premier travel magazine) in 1925. Perks of staying in a penthouse include privacy, peace, and quiet; a respite from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets below. Be planted right within the action but remain above it all, serene and watchful.

Penthouse apartments are considered to be at the top of their markets, and are generally the most expensive, with expansive views, large living spaces, and top-of-the line amenities. Vail offers some incredible penthouses and we’ve selected three of our favourites.
