Upcoming Musical Events in Vail

Do you love to groove? If so, then Vail is the place to be this summer!

As the weather heats up, so do the entertainment options in the beautiful mountains of Vail, Colorado. Summer is a time for music in mountains, but even before summer officially arrives, Vail offers music to your ears with Beaver Creek’s 8th annual Blues Brews and BBQ event over Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-27, 2012. Chefs from all over, as well as well known Vail Valley favorites serve up delicious bbq feasts along with micro-brews provided by a variety of breweries. Blues and food throughout the village make for a great day. Bring the whole family, as kids’ activities are everywhere!

Up next starting June 24 through Aug. 4 marks the 25th anniversary of the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival, taking place at three venues: The Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, Vail Mountain School and the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater near the Manor Vail Lodge. Taking part will be the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Also partaking will be soloists of all varieties.

Your summer vacation in Vail could easily include the Vail Jazz Festival, which kicks off June 24 and runs throughout the summer, wrapping up Labor Day weekend. It includes 40 jazz shows over the 12-week period. If your family is looking into summer packages to Vail, be sure to inquire about the free kid-friendly concert by the National Repertory Orchestra performing Bach’s Double Violin Concerto on July 12.

Another music offering is the Vail Soul Music Fest, featuring three days and two nights of performances by some of the top R&B, Blues, Soul, Hip Hop, and alternative Rock artists from around the world. Many of the performances take place at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater near the Manor Vail Lodge.

If you’re considering fall rather than summer packages to Vail, the Season of Song offers a four-day collection of songwriters, publishers, music industry manufactures and music enthusiasts.

In short, if music is your thing, any time is the right time in Vail. Hotels are offering great value and deals over the next few months, and if you haven’t been to Vail in the summer, you have to give it a try. The locals will tell you – they come for the winter, but stay for the summer. Magic.
