Spring Back to Vail

Spring in Vail

Tourists call Vail  ”the King of Spring” and there’s a grounded reason behind that. It is not just the season, or the great atmosphere, or the activities, or the friendly faces of fellow vacationers – it is this celebration called Spring Back to Vail, an event that started back in 2009.

Spring season in Vail greets you with light snow, sunny valleys and most of the time, wintry mountaintops. You can still ski just as much as you love. Playtime is also extended since the sun stays longer in the sky during this time of the year. Vail visitors come to enjoy the raging 5000 acres trails. River rafting, racing, and hiking are blooming trends during spring but the highlight of it all comes down to the Spring Back to Vail event.

What is All the Buzz behind Spring Back to Vail?

How does three days of exhilarating activities, free concerts, good food surrounded by the beauty of powdery snow sound to you? Beyond exciting, right? These are what the event is all about and it starts on April 17.

Jim Kellen, marketing director of Vail Mountain: “In addition to the fantastic weather and snow conditions that we typically see at Vail in the springtime, there are also great deals to be found on lodging and lift tickets, and exciting free live music to enjoy as a part of Spring Back to Vail.”

Meet new friends, have fun and taste the best of what the spring season has to offer! Here goes to the start of the days of warm smiles and splashing under the gorgeous sun of Vail.

Spring in Vail is not like any other. It is welcome with explosions of excitement and fun. For instance, have you ever thought of reggae in the mountains? Yes, that is a state of mind when in Vail. If you have been here before, you probably know reggae artist, Jimmy Cliff and he is going to give a free concert this year.

Here’s the top free concert line ups this 2015 edition:

Portugal. The Man (April 17). The band’s name (Portugal. The Man) may sound odd for linguists but that doesn’t really matter if you just simply want to enjoy great music. If you’re up for some rock combined with the groovy tune of psychedelic pop, then you should lend an ear to Portugal. The Man

Trampled by Turtles (April 18). Fan of folk-rock Bob Dylan or Neil Young perhaps? Your longing for these tunes will surely be satisfied if you drop by to listen to Trampled by Turtles as they performed on the second day of the event. The band has already performed on many big festivals including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Coachella, and Stagecoach.

The Greyboy Allstars (April 19). The spring event will be ended with the soulful sound of jazz music by The Greyboy Allstars. Just how good this band is? Well, more than two decades in the music industry made them utterly amazing.

Spring back to Vail

Do not miss Vail for the sake of  The World Pond Skimming Championship. This hilarious tradition and Vail’s very pride consists of 75 skimming, costumed participants and an icy, chilly pond.

The participants will compete to win a Helly Hansen base layer, a pair of Liberty Skis and an Epic Pass for the 2015-2016 season. The World Pond Skimming Championship is to take place on the Lake Golden Peak starting at 1:30 on April 19. Expect the scenes of floatable athletes launching themselves off and jumping onto the icy pond to (hopefully) exit the pond on both feet.

Fun is everywhere when you are in Vail. Stroll around the base area for giveaways and, of course, make sure to go to Apres parties after sun sets.

Ditch that work, pack up your backpack, grab a friend or the entire family and head to Vail as soon as possible! Regret has no space here. You will be welcome with a big blast of unforgettable spring memories.
